Students from the Speech and Drama Department have once again achieved impressive results in the Autumn Term LAMDA examinations.

On Wednesday 20th November, the department welcomed a LAMDA examiner to assess a small group of students in disciplines including Verse and Prose, Speaking in Public, and Acting. All students who participated were awarded either a Distinction or a Merit.

Ms Smith (Visiting Speech and Drama Coordinator) commented: “Miss Burns and I were delighted to receive such positive results in our first examination session of the academic year. These achievements include students sitting their very first examination, and it is wonderful to see their growing confidence.”

“A special mention goes to our Year 11 students, who balanced a demanding start to the academic year with preparing for their medal-level examinations and were all rewarded with Distinctions. We hope students and their families enjoy reading the examiner's encouraging feedback on their ability to communicate and perform, both of which are invaluable life skills.”

Mr Stratton (Director of Drama and Dance) added: “This is yet another excellent set of results, reflecting the strength of the Speech and Drama provision at BGS, building students communications skills and confidence in performing. Congratulations to the students, as well as to Miss Burns and Ms Smith, for these outstanding achievements. If you or your daughter would like to arrange a taster session or learn more, please feel free to contact Ms Smith or me directly.”
