Mrs Martin (Head of Year 3)
Year 3 have been busy welcoming guests from our feeder schools this week.
On Tuesday, the girls from Pilgrims were immersed in snippets of life at the Junior School through Dance, Music and Science. It was an exciting morning, as we unveiled our new Junior Science room and used the space to get the girls talking and listening to each other with a Chromatography experiment. Through an imaginary journey, the girls created an interpretive dance with Miss Bream, whilst Mr Keating-Roberts, Director of Music, taught an African marching song, which was only fitting to end our session with.
Our activity morning on Thursday with Polam started with an outdoor scavenger hunt. The girls worked in small groups to collect a range of natural materials from a given list, which were later used to produce Autumnal art. It was great to see the awe and wonder in the Science activities, as Mrs Smart, Head of Science, introduced the girls to investigation and observation through water experiments involving skittles, petri dishes, pipettes and water.
It is always lovely to welcome visitors to the Junior School and especially enjoyable for the current Year 3s to meet up with their old teachers and friends.
