We are currently running our annual food collection for Bedford Foodbank, affiliated to the national charity the Trussell Trust.
Bedford Foodbank is a charity which provides emergency food and compassionate, dignified support to people locked in crisis.
Bedford Foodbank’s volunteers work with referral partners to provide a minimum of three days emergency food and support to people experiencing crisis in our community. Last year, The Trussell Trust foodbanks in the UK gave food over 1.3 million times to people experiencing food poverty.
The items donated will really benefit others, especially in the run up to Christmas and over the winter months. The collection will run until Monday 2nd December. This year, please ask your daughter to drop her items to the back of the gallery in the Assembly Hall in the boxes provided, before school or during break and lunch time.
View the suggested item list here.
In addition, this year we will also be collecting warm clothing for homeless adults in the Bedford borough. These items will be distributed via local charities. We would especially appreciate (adult sizes) hats, gloves, scarves, fleeces, waterproof jackets (new or very good used condition). These can also be left in the boxes provided in the Assembly Hall gallery.
Winter can be incredibly difficult for many, so if you and your family are able to give even one or two items from this list, it would be hugely beneficial and very much appreciated by someone else.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
