In support of Bedford School’s Movember campaign, our BGS U19 netball team hosted a charity fundraiser match on Tuesday evening, Mo Bro vs Mo Sis!
Men’s mental health is a topic that often goes overlooked, but since 2003, the Movember charity has worked tirelessly to change that. Movember is the leading charity dedicated to men’s mental health, aiming not only to improve mental health and prevent suicide but also to tackle prostate and testicular cancer. Collaborative events like this bring our school communities together in support of such an important cause.
The event was organised by BGS Sport Captain, Molly Lincoln, who said: “The match went really well overall. The boys made a strong effort to stick to the rules, such as footwork, and showed significant progress from start to finish. They even showed off some impressive skills! The girls did what we do best and won the game 19-12.
“The support from the crowd was fantastic, with chants and drums that helped create an encouraging atmosphere. This was vital for the purpose of the event, and the energy on the sidelines contributed to us raising plenty of donations for this worthy cause. The boys’ passion for Movember was both evident and infectious. The girls thoroughly enjoyed joining in and embracing the efforts. I hope this event continues for many years to come.”
