Whole School Rowing

The BGS Rowing Team and Friends of the Bedford Girls’ School Rowing Club (FBGSRC) are organising a 24hour Ergo Challenge, which will take place on Friday 29th November, from 3pm onwards.

Can the girls row from Bedford to their training camp location in Hazewinkel, Belgium in 24hrs? We’re about to find out.

As BGS crews swap the river for dry land, the girls will attempt to row a staggering 300 miles in 24hrs. Taking the idea of, ‘Being up all night’ to new levels, two teams will go head to head, in what promises to be a challenging night, filled with exhilaration and teamwork.

Serious training and determination are allowing our Boat Club to strive to make some serious headway at local and National events this year. Our Friends Committee support us all from cheering along the river banks to helping us raise funds for new equipment.

The grand finale of this brilliant sponsored event coincides with this years’ Christmas Fayre, so please come and support us, at what is guaranteed to be a fantastically exhausting, inspiring and thrilling 24hrs!
