Many congratulations to our talented riders and horses and their success at Bury Farm in the NSEA competition last weekend.
This was a competitive venue with over 40 schools entered for the dressage and show jumping events. BGS entered both the Prelim B Dressage and the Novice 28 Dressage and Jessica Yeoman (Year 10) and Ellie Mullan (Year 11) both came home with rosettes.
In the show jumping event, we had an extremely competitive field and the BGS equestrian team beat 48 riders to claim 2nd place in the 70cm with Holly (Year 10) and Lucy Maudlin (Year 8), Larissa Brown (Year 7) and Lily Sonsino (Year 8) riding. Larissa rode fast and clear to win 1st place as an individual in the 70cm. At the 80cm Holly and Lucy Maudlin, Jess Yeoman and Isabelle Perry (Year 11) came in all clear with a respectable 5th place beating 45 riders to do so.
There are exciting times ahead for the riders with many more competitions on the horizon. The school team is open to all riders that enjoy competing and we are planning to hold some training get togethers. Riders must have access to a pony and have transport available to events. The school takes part in show jumping, dressage and arena eventing classes across the southeast region. Interested? Please contact Nicky Woods on [email protected] for details of this parent-led activity.
The team will be competing in a variety of heights and disciplines for the NSEA events aiming to qualify for Windsor and Hickstead in 2023.
