Whole School Alumnae

It’s been a historic past week for our inspirational alumnae who are continuing to thrive on the national sporting stage.

Under the lights at Battersea Park’s Millennium Arena on the evening of Friday 28th April, former England and Great Britain Hockey professional player, Kate Axford (BGS 2017), claimed a historic victory in her first ever 5,000m elite race, the Comeback 5000! Kate has registered an incredible rate of improvement over 5km. Having recorded 17:24 in January, she then posted 16:39 in March, before winning in her first track outing over the distance in 15:49.79, edging out Herne Hill Harriers’ Georgie Grgec.

After a prolonged injury in her hockey career, Kate decided to switch to athletics and what a success it has been! View her winning moment here.

After completing her International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma in 2017, Kate studied Geography at the University of Exeter (2017-2020).

Rising rugby star, Rosalie Inman (BGS 2019), and her Cheltenham Rugby Club team lifted the Papa Johns UK Community Cup trophy at Twickenham Stadium on Sunday 30th April. Currently on loan from Bristol Bears Rugby, Rosie’s magic moments on the field helped Cheltenham secure a 27-17 victory against Leicester Tigers Women's!

After achieving the prestigious School Dux award in 2019, Rosalie studied Biological Sciences at Durham University (2019-2022). She is currently undertaking a MSc in Biomedical Research at the University of Bristol, specialising in immunology and the biology of disease.

BGS and the wider community are very proud of Kate’s and Rosalie’s achievements! We wish them the very best in future competitions.
