Year 10 Challenged In The Peaks

Senior School Event

By Nicola Crolla (Year 10)

Last Thursday (10th September), Year 10 left school to embark on the annual trip to Edale. Although I knew what the trip would involve, I didn't realise how fun it would be and how much I would laugh.

We were challenged both physically and mentally. Whilst I enjoyed the canoeing and caving during the day on Friday, abseiling in the dark off an 80 foot bridge was very much out of my comfort zone, so much so that without the persuasion from Miss Gray and the amazing team that were with us, I would not have done it.

Miss MacKenzie joined our group for the hiking on Saturday morning which consisted of a three and a half hour walk in the pouring rain. We could not stop laughing when a fellow student in my group let go of the rock face and swung round hitting me in the face.

All in all, the trip was brilliant. It was good to work so well together and build lasting relationships with teachers and other students.

Speaking for the whole of Year 10, we will always remember this trip and we are very grateful to all the staff who gave up their weekend to support us.
