An impromptu flashmob broke out in the Senior School on Friday (20th November) to promote the forthcoming performance of Angela Carter’s Nights at the Circus.
The play, which will be performed by girls in Year 11 and the Sixth Form, with students from Bedford School, is based on Angela Carter’s award winning novel set in 1899. It tells the story of a trapeze artist called Fevvers, the Cockney Venus. Fevvers claims she hatched from an egg, was raised in a brothel, and grew wings in her teens.
At break time a week ago, members of the cast performed a scene from the play out of the blbue both in the dining hall and the Sixth Form common room.
Tickets, priced £9, to include interval refreshments, can be reserved now by clicking here. The electronic reply form must be completed by Monday (30th November).
*A reminder that the play isn't suitable for younger audiences.
