Neve O'Brien (Year 9)
On Monday, the Educate Girls team visited Pilgrims School to give an assembly about the important work the charity does to tackle issues at the root cause of gender inequality in India’s education system.
The Pilgrims pupils were asked many questions about school and what it would feel like if they were not allowed to go to school. It was an eye opening experience for the pupils who thought it was unfair that children, especially girls, were not given the opportunity to go to school.
We explained how Educate Girls empowers communities to facilitate girls’ education in rural India and the work we do in school to support the charity.
The Art Club have created beautiful Indian inspired goodies for sale, including tote bags £3, small pencil cases £4 and large pencil cases £5. The order forms and samples are available in the Junior School reception and the Senior School Green Room. Students can also purchase raffle tickets for the Educate Girls Easter egg raffle in the Green Room.
