Many congratulations to Bedford High School alumna Emma Banks (1986), who was awarded the 2018 Music Industry Trusts Award (Monday 5th November) in recognition of her contributions to the music industry in a career spanning over 25 years.
Now in its 27th year, the Music Industry Trusts Award is recognised as one of the true benchmarks of achievement in the UK music business.
Emma, who is Co-Head of the Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in London, is one of the most successful and respected talent agents in the music business. Her current roster includes Katy Perry, Arcade Fire, Florence + The Machine, Kylie Minogue, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Lorde and many others. Recent signings include Green Day, Muse, HAIM and Paramore, while she is also chair of the Nordoff Robbins Silver Clef committee.
As quoted in Music Week online, Emma said: “I’ve realised since being announced as the recipient of this award back in May how important today is for so many women. So I stand up here, I hope, as a representative of the many women in the industry who may not have had the opportunity or frankly the inclination to make their voice heard, as I have."
