It was super to welcome back our alumnae Sophie Alabaster, Cristina Keech and Natasha Rose back in to school before the half term break.
Both Cristina and Natasha left after their GCSEs in 2013 and had not seen the latest developments at BGS. Cristina is now working as a Marketing Manager for a home renovation firm in St. Neots and Natasha is in her final year at Anglia Ruskin University studying Psychology.
On the same day, Sophie Alabaster (2015), gave an inspiring Lunchbox Lecture about studying music at university and the diverse careers associated with it.
Eloise Toone (Year 11), said: “Sophie described studying music at school, university and how she came to be working with the Clare College Choir, working to organise tours in the UK, Europe and the US. I found the talk very interesting, as it gave me more knowledge about less conventional jobs involving music, and made me consider learning more about taking a music degree.”
Sophie graduated this summer with a 2:1 (Hons) in Music from the University of Birmingham. She is now working at Clare College, Cambridge managing their choir. Sophie has a busy year ahead as the choir prepares to tour Mexico, Canada, USA, Spain and South East Asia over the year.
