It was a bronze medal winning performance for talented alpine skier Holly Tutt (Year 7), who placed third in the Kombi race (a mix of Giant Slalom & Slalom with jumps and banks) at the Delancey British Alpine Ski Championships in Tignes, France (8th-12th April).
Holly also placed 6th in the Giant Slalom, this is a huge achievement as she competed against the very best international skiers including competitors from French clubs that live in the Alps.
Holly said: “I was really pleased to come 3rd in the Kombi at the British championships as I was against a strong field of competitors. The spring snow conditions were tricky as it was very warm, making the snow really slushy. I’m now looking forward to my first U14 race in the UK this weekend.”
This was Holly’s final season as an U12 competitor, she now moves up to U14 and the challenge of adult slalom gates and having to gain seed points. She will be racing indoors this summer in the GBR series and at some international races indoors in The Netherlands, before returning to Austria in October for the 2019/2020 season.
Holly is part of the Ambition Racing Team, where she spends around 10-12 weeks a year training with them. Ambition Racing is recognised as one of GBR's leading alpine ski racing academies. The programme has been responsible for producing a number of Britain's top alpine ski racers for over a decade.
