During the half term break, our Senior School students were greeted with perfect conditions for skiing in the Dolomites in northern Italy. The girls enjoyed plenty of hours on the slopes in Madonna di Campiglio, which is one of the most well-known Italian ski resorts in the Alps.
Diana Dhimar (Year 8) and Elizabeth Bruce (Year 10) summarise their experience:
Diana Dhimar: “The Ski trip to Italy gave me the opportunity to spend time with other people in my year group as well as my close friends. I particularly enjoyed the day we got the chance to go out to an Italian Pizza restaurant, my pepperoni pizza was delicious! The skiing was really enjoyable and I found it challenging in the blizzard. I was surprised that I moved in to the expert group having only been once skiing on the mountain, although this was a new challenge I felt supported by my peers and I improved a lot! I would love to go again next year and would recommend it to other people.”
Elizabeth Bruce: “The Ski Trip was a really good experience and great opportunity to build new relationships with students from other year groups. I really enjoyed the skiing but what I enjoyed the most was spending time with my friends. No matter what we were doing or how bad the weather was, we never failed to make each other laugh. I started in the intermediate ski group but was soon surprised to move up to the expert group. Even though it was a challenge at the beginning, I soon felt comfortable. Throughout the week we did lots of different activities such as going into town, getting ice cream and going out for pizza. I would strongly recommend for other girls to sign up next year.”
