Mr Ellis (Duke of Edinburgh's Award Manager)

Thursday 27th February saw the annual Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) Evening where those participants who have successfully completed the Bronze and Silver levels of the award scheme, are presented with their certificates and badges.

The evening started with an introduction, highlighting what the students have achieved at the various levels. The lectern was then handed over to the evenings guest speaker, alumna Katie Parrish (BGS 2017), who herself completed the DofE program through to Gold level, receiving her certificate at Buckingham Palace last summer.

Katie spoke confidently about how she has used the experiences gained to help her time at university. Following the talk, Mrs Axford presided over the presentation of the certificates and the evening was rounded off by a photo opportunity.

I wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate all those who have successfully completed their DofE award at all levels and to offer my encouragement to those who are currently working through the award scheme now.
