Miss Dawson, Biology Teacher (CAS & Service Coordinator)
This year, the Service Team have chosen to donate our Harvest collection to FACES, a charity who provide practical and emotional support to families in Bedford, experiencing difficult circumstances in their lives.
The charity run a number of different projects, but one of their most successful and most necessary in recent times is their LunchBox@FACES project. This project was initially set up to provide meals for children in the school summer holidays, but, for the first time, the charity also operated over the recent October half term holiday, due to increased poverty associated with the Coronavirus pandemic.
The items donated will be used to provide grocery parcels to families supported by FACES over the winter months.
The collection will run for two weeks (9th-20th November). This year, please bring items to the Balcony in the Assembly Hall during form time and break time during the two-week collection period and place in the boxes provided.
Suggested items include -
Tinned goods- tuna, meat, veg, fruit, rice pudding, custard, tomatoes, soup etc
Pasta/Rice/Lentils
Boxes of cereal/oats
Cartons of juice/ long life milk
Coffee/tea/hot chocolate
