We are delighted to announce that many of our talented netball players have been selected to represent Superleague Hubs and Bedfordshire County across a wider range of age groups.
Mya Lakhan (Year 10) and Georgie Wright (Lower Sixth) have been selected for the U17 Wasps Academy Hub, following successful trial days.
Georgie said: “I’ve aspired to represent a Superleague Hub for quite a while and am really looking forward to training starting in January.”
Amelia Mead (Year 9) has been selected to represent the London Pulse U17 Academy Herts Hub. Amelia’s selection process involved submitting footage of set netball drills and shooting challenges, which was analysed by the coaching team. This was then followed by a face-to-face trial at in East London where they were assessed in drills and match play.
Amelia said: “I can’t wait to play franchise netball this season, playing with and against older and stronger players will help me become a better player.”
Congratulations to the following Year 10 students who have been selected to represent the U15 county squad - Lucy Young, Megan Brook, Megan Howlett, Amelia Rayner and Jelly Devile. Year 8 students Nwando Ifeacho and Ed Devile will be representing the U13 county squad.
Miss Huckle (Head of Netball) who also represents Wasps Netball said: “It is so exciting to see so many BGS students being recognised for their incredible talent and being selected within the different pathways. They are all a pleasure to coach and I am so pleased that all their hard work paying off.”
