Following the recent Parent Elected Governor ballot, we are delighted to announce that Mrs Sharanjit Sira has been elected as Parent Governor to the Governing Body.

Sharanjit currently serves as a Finance Director to Sira Building & Development Limited, managing all the finances and legal aspects of the business and in 2016 she was highly commended in the Business Woman of the Year Awards. She graduated with a Masters In Law (LLM) from Birmingham University and lives in Bedfordshire with her husband and two children.

Sharanjit said: “What I most admire about BGS is that the students are taught how to be young independent, confident and ambitious individuals. As a Parent Elected Governor, I hope to be an extension of this and help progress the school’s ambitions with the help of you the parents and guardians.”

The post will commence in the Autumn Term 2021 and the term of office is three years. The Parent Elected Governor will, like all Governors, be expected to ensure good governance of the School with support for and from the Senior Leadership Team but they will also be responsible for representing the views of parents to the School Committee and assisting in communication from the School Committee to parents.
