Inspirational Alumna, Erin Osgood (BGS 2017), was recently selected as a BBC Young Reporter and has shared her original story for the UN Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26), which has been taking place this month in Glasgow.
Erin was one of 22 young reporters, selecting from over 500 entries, working with BBC programmes and platforms to produce their own original stories with regard to climate change. Her report focuses on air pollution in Bedford and whether increasing cycling accessibility will make a difference to pollution in the area. Erin’s report was broadcast last weekend (Sunday 7th) on the BBC Politics East programme (start 13m:20s).
We are looking forward to welcoming Erin into school in March, where she will be working with some of the students as part of our upcoming Eco Week. Her recent report is particularly relevant to the audience here and it will be great for the students to hear more about this in.
Following BGS, Erin read English Literature and American and Canadian Studies at the University of Birmingham, obtaining a First-Class degree. As a writer and journalist, she hopes to have a career in news journalism.
