Many congratulations to Miss Huckle (Head of Netball) on being selected as Captain for Wasps Netball.
The talented Goal Keeper will be representing the team for a sixth consecutive season, and is looking ahead to another thrilling campaign.
Miss Huckle said: “I am so excited to be asked to captain this year. I have always aspired to be a leader and to be trusted to lead such a talented group, is an honour. I am really looking forward to kicking off our 2022 campaign.
“I am also really thankful to BGS for supporting my netball career whilst working as Head of Netball, and I hope I can continue to inspire the students to play netball at all levels.”
Head Coach, Mel Mansfield, who has worked with Miss Huckle for a significant period of time, commented: “As one of the original Wasps, she has demonstrated her commitment and loyalty to the Club since day one. She has an infectious personality and brings her experience and energy to every session. Not only has Josie been an integral part of our Vitality Netball Superleague (VNSL) group, but she has also invested her time and experience coaching to support the Wasps Netball Academy Programme.”
Miss Huckle’s accolades include four Superleague titles 2015-2018 (last two with Wasps), three Senior England Caps and a gold medal in Netball Europe 2017.
The season will get underway on 5 and 6 February 2022 with a ‘Season Opener’ double-header, held at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena, which will see all 11 clubs feature in a jam-packed weekend of 10 games of netball. View the full schedule here.
