U19 County Tournament - Tuesday 16th November
The U19As made it to their final unbeaten. The final was a close affair between Samuel Whitbread Academy and BGS, with the score staying within three the entire time and both teams taking the lead. However, at the final whistle BGS narrowly lost making them the runners up but earning themselves a place to represent Bedfordshire in the England Netball Regional Finals. The U19Bs came 3rd after a mixed selection of results throughout their pool stages. The students finally gelled in their 3rd/4th play off and beat Wootton Upper School 11-8.
U16 County Tournament - Thursday 4th November
The U16As made their final after five wins and one loss within the pool stages. The students dug deep in their final to beat Redbourne Upper School, who they have previously lost to, which means they are now county champions and progress to the regional finals to represent Bedfordshire! The U16Bs showed a fantastic standard of play throughout their plate competition losing only one game in the group stages. Unfortunately, they narrowly missed out on the final by goal difference. However, they dominated the 3rd/4th play off beating Bedford Greenacre Independent School and finishing third overall.
U14 County Tournament - Wednesday 17th of November
U14As played five games and won all bar one in a round robin format. In the final, they were against a strong BMS side, who had beaten them in group stages. The students were able to put together a much better performance in the final but narrowly lost to BMS by two goals, making them runners up of the county tournament and earning themselves a place in the Regional Finals. U14Bs had an intense set of matches in their competition playing nine games! The work rate in every game was amazing. The team narrowly lost two games to Samuel Whitbread Academy and overall winner Cedars Upper School. BGS U14Bs finished a very respectful 4th in the plate competition.
