Mr Castro (Head of Swimming)

Many congratulations to three of our talented swimmers who put in outstanding performances at a recent regional championship.

Holly Katasi (Year 7), Charlie Duce (Year 8), Lucy Young (Year 11) competed for their respective clubs at the Swim England East Region Swimming Championships in Norwich and Luton over the past weekends.

Holly Katasi representing the Linslade Crusaders Swimming Club entered nine events and managed to win a bronze medal in the girls 400m. This makes her 3rd fastest in the whole East of England in her age group for this race. Holly just missed out on another bronze in the 100m freestyle by one hundredth of a second.

Charlie Duce entered four events achieving four personal best times and Lucy Young achieved a 3 place in the 1500m event she also raced 8 events achieving 1 personal best time. Both Charlie and Lucy swim for Modernians swimming club.

Later in the term we are looking forward to Liv James (Year 6) who has qualified for the IAPS swimming championships taking place at the London Aquatic centre. The Junior ESSA relay team will be travelling to Sheffield.
