Miss Huckle (Head Rowing Coach)

On Sunday 26th July 2022, over 30 rowers from our Year 9 squad travelled to Peterborough to compete at their annual regatta on their multi-lane course.

All the rowers put in an absolutely fantastic effort, and we enjoyed a brilliant day's racing. Racing in quads and doubles, each event had a championship and plate event.

All of our doubles qualified for the Championship category, finishing in 2nd place, 2X 3rd places and 4th in the finals. Similarly, in the quads, we had 2X 1st place, second and third in their respective finals. All in all, a great day of racing for team BGS!

A huge thank you to the Friends of BGSBC for their support on the day, our tent was certainly full of amazing food, drink and atmosphere, and the BGS roar could certainly be heard down the whole lake.

We are very much looking forward to our Summer Rowing Ball which takes place on Friday 8th July 2022. Organised by The Friends of Bedford Girls' School Rowing Club, the guest speaker for the evening will be Team GB rowing cox, Matilda Horn.
