We are super proud to announce that rising swimming star, Eloise Cole (Year 10), has won the coveted Junior Sports Personality of the Year Award at the annual Bedford Sports and Physical Activity Awards on Monday (5th December) evening.
Held at the Bedford Corn Exchange, the ceremony returned in person for the first time since 2019. The awards recognise and celebrate the contribution of individuals, clubs and coaches to sports and physical activity locally.
The Modernian Club swimmer continues to impress in the pool for club, county and BGS. Recent achievements include claiming a silver medal in the 50m Fly final at the prestigious British Summer Swimming Championships held in Sheffield.
In November, Eloise put in outstanding performances at the East Region Winter Swimming Championships where she broke the Junior (U16) Bedfordshire County Records in the 50m Back, 50m Fly and 50m Free. She also broke the Senior County Records in the 50m Back and 50m Fly. Which is a fantastic achievement. Eloise took Bronze in the 50m Back final and very narrowly finished 4th in the 50m Fly final.
Eloise’s achievements have been recognised by Swim England (NGB) resulting in selection onto their Elite Pathway Programme; She is currently ranked in the top five for her age in the UK in six events.
We are extremely proud of Eloise’s achievements and look forward to following her promising swimming career.
