It seems the theme of the new Spring Term has been wet and windy weather and Saturday's matches against St. George’s were no exception. The blustery first round started off well with even competition among all of the teams.

The first team match is always hotly contested against St. George’s. In the spirit of national schools coming up this term we decided to play three 15 minute matches in preparation. Despite the hard work we fell to St. George’s in the end. I am sure when we face them again in March and even at National Schools the scores will be just as scattered! The 2nd team started really strongly and put away a few goals before St George's could really get into the game. BGS stayed ahead throughout but with a 3 goal cushion going into the final 3rd the team took the pressure off which allowed them to get back into the game making it a very close finish!

The Under 15A team faced a difficult start with a large goal deficit in the first half. They showed their stripes and battled back to draw in the last few minutes, The U15B team played brilliantly finishing 5-5.

The BGS U14A's stepped up a gear and there were so many magical moments all over the pitch. One that stood out above many was the link up play and quick ball movement into attack. The defence remained solid and St George's struggled to break through. St George's were an extremely strong side and it was testament to BGS how hard they worked collectively. The final score was 5-3. The U14B team also had a really competitive game going from end to end. The girls pulled together in the second half and took their chances in front of goal. A special mention must go to Suhki Sahota for her outstanding display in goal. The final score was 7-5.

The U13A took the first half to get into the game. Once up and running the competition was on! We had some catching up to do, 4 different attackers scored and the defence kept us in the game. They worked hard together and the final score was a 7-9 loss. The U13B team were quick to get on the score sheet. The game seemed close but we were the first to the ground balls and determined to make each pass count in the 9-5 win.

Starting with a deficit of 3 goals, the U12A team clawed their way back up to an even score. Wonderful draw controls balanced out savvy goals on the attacking. Though the score was 9-8 to George's, the team came off the pitch happy with their effort. The U12B team faced a fierce competitor in St. George’s and unfortunately fell to them. However, their determination never wavered and a very big mention to Siya Challa for stepping up and playing goalie.
