We are thrilled to announce that aspiring actress, Leyla Nurettin (Lower Sixth), has gained a place on a National Youth Theatre (NYT) summer course.
The 17-year-old beat hundreds of aspiring young actors in UK auditions to be accepted into the world-leading organisation. The summer program is an exciting two-week course in London, which is taught by the best of the best, in which the students will put on a performance at the end of the course, using their newly learned skills.
A delighted Leyla said: I am grateful for this opportunity, to now be a part of the NYT course. It was always an aspiration of mine, and when I found out I was one of the ten percent of candidates accepted, I was proud to say the least.”
BGS Director of Drama and Dance, Mr Stratton reflected on Leyla’s achievement: “NYT is a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their skills and experience working with new partners outside of the BGS community. We are so proud of Leyla for successfully auditioning for the Summer course and wish her the best of luck - we hope she has the best time!
“If you are inspired by Leyla's story and would like some more information on how to get involved in Dance and Drama at school or outside of school, please do pop into the Drama Office. Similarly, if you have an event coming up or something that you've been accepted onto/won, let us know - we'd be happy to celebrate and showcase your achievements.”
