We are delighted to announce that Holly Tutt (Lower Sixth) has been selected to receive funding from The Ladies' Ski Club this season.
The Ladies' Ski Club raises funds to support elite British female athletes with annual awards and aims to increase female participation in snow sports. They are the oldest women’s alpine ski club in the world, and this year, they are celebrating their centenary.
Holly is the youngest athlete to receive an award from them this year and is amongst some illustrious company, including female GB World Cup and Olympic athletes. The Ladies' Ski Club organises the British Schoolgirls' races, of which Holly was the overall winner and U19 champion at the British Schoolgirls’ Indoor Championships at Milton Keynes in October. She also captained the two teams entered by BGS.
Holly said: “I feel incredibly fortunate to have been chosen to receive an award from The Ladies’ Ski Club this year and am excited for the season ahead!”
Holly is currently in Bormio, Italy, training with her team, Alpine Performance Racing. She will be competing in her first FIS international races in slalom and giant slalom pre-Christmas in Italy. This is a step up, as she is no longer competing in children’s races. Holly will start the season with the highest points (999.99) as she has not completed any FIS races yet, so she will be starting at the back of the field against older (any age from U18 through to those in their 30s), more experienced athletes until she can start to lower her points through her placings.
