Saturday 27th January, was certainly the warmest lacrosse fixture we have had this month at our wonderful Cople Fields facilities. We welcomed North London Collegiate School to play matches in three rounds against 10 teams.

With the U14 and U16 regional netball finals taking place over this weekend, it did mean that a number of the teams were missing several players. However, it was quite remarkable watching so many of the students work incredibly hard both on and off the ball and showing resilience in adapting to slightly different playing positions.

The 1st team played their finest game of lacrosse this season with impressive ball movement and collaboration in attack, and with the National Schools competition soon approaching, this certainly will have given the squad a great boost in confidence. There was so much to be proud of across all the games, but most notably, it was the U12C team who stole the show! They stepped out on the lacrosse pitches at Cople for the first time to play in their first-ever competitive match. This team may well have lacked experience, but they really worked hard as a team to learn throughout their 40-minute game. Coming in for the team talk at halftime saw the U12C 3-1 behind, and with some excellent input from BGS staff, the players went back onto the field with a great mindset. The U12C had an incredible second half and went on to win 6-4!

Well done to all the teams that played. Out of the 10 fixtures, BGS won nine and lost one, which was a fantastic result.

U19A – 12-3 win. U19B – 5-6 loss. U15A – 13-2 win. U14A - 11-8 win. U14B - 6-2 win. U13A - 7-5 win. U13B - 13-1 win. U12A – 9-3 win. U12B – 5-4 win. U12C – 6-4 win.

This weekend sees a number of teams playing some internal matches before we play our next opponents, St Georges, on Saturday 10th February. Good luck also needs to go to the U14A & B and U13 A, B & C teams who have their Beds/Herts County Lacrosse Tournaments next week.
