Congratulations to broadcaster and academic psychologist, Claudia Hammond (DAHS 1989), who has been awarded the Rosalind Franklin medal this week (4th March) by Humanists UK, before delivering the Humanists UK Rosalind Franklin Lecture 2024, titled ‘Keys to Kindness: How to be Kinder to Yourself, Others, and The World.’
This yearly award-event is organised in celebration of International Women’s Day and is a fantastic recognition of Claudia’s work. As many of you will know, biophysicist Rosalind Franklin, is one of the inspiring six females that makes up the BGS house system and Claudia was our guest of honour at last year’s Prize Giving.
Claudia is an award-winning broadcaster, author and psychology lecturer and the presenter of several podcasts and radio shows including All in the Mind on BBC Radio 4 which covers psychology, neuroscience and mental health.
Humanists UK is the national charity working on behalf of non-religious people, with an aim of creating a tolerant society where rational thinking and kindness prevail with equal treatment for all.
