On Thursday 27th June, Year 7 celebrated the end of a very busy year with a trip to Warwick Castle. The day began with a joust, featuring the Lancastrians battling the York family for the throne. The year group cheered for their respective colours, and with much delight, the red rose triumphed. We then witnessed the uniting of the red and white roses as the Tudor dynasty began.

Next was the Falconer's Quest. Year 7 had their picnic while eagles, owls, and other birds of prey swooped among the crowd, showcasing their majestic skills in the skies above. We were also privileged to see a condor take flight; its wingspan was incredible. After lunch, the year group visited the castle and the maze, with some even taking a turn in the stocks. It was a fun-filled and very busy day, but great fun was had by all.

Isabelle Chrusciak (Year 7) said: “I thoroughly enjoyed my day at Warwick Castle. I found the jousting so impressive and exciting to watch. During the birds of prey presentation, I was fascinated by how big and well-trained these magnificent birds were. The castle was much more joyful and interesting than an average museum. I had a great day!”

Amrita Tumber (Year 7) added: “I loved Warwick Castle so much! It was my favourite trip because I had the best time and enjoyed every bit of it. I liked how we had a bit of freedom to go to the shops, and my highlights were looking around the castle and watching the birds of prey. Not to mention the fabulous jousting! Overall, Warwick Castle was extraordinary and super fun!”
