BGS celebrated European Day of Languages (EDOL) on Monday (26th September) with a plethora of activities.
An initiative of the Council of Europe, EDOL sees a range of events organised across Europe: activities for and with children, television and radio programmes, language classes and conferences.
BGS activities included a keenly contested staff v students boules competition, in which the teachers were victorious, an interview in French whilst hula hooping, as well as a display board covered in handprints detailing what learning languages means to different people.
There were also a variety of challenges that quizzed girls on multilingual celebrities, animal noises in other languages and famous landmarks.
Girls in the Junior School took part in a challenge to find the word for 'friend' in a host of different languages.
Salsa dancing was also on offer!
