On Thursday (16th March) the U14A lacrosse team won the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire County tournament at Haberdashers, the final lacrosse tournament of the season.
Fresh from their third place at the Nationals, the U14 squad played some outstanding team lacrosse to beat Abbots Hill 10- 0, St George’s School 5-2, St Albans Girls’ School 4 – 2, Berkhamsted School 3-1 and Haberdashers 7-0.
With the county tournaments finishing with a final between the two top placed teams from the round robin stages, BGS faced a Berkhamsted side who had denied them the county title the previous year.
BGS played with focus and determination but also calmness and maturity to finish with a 2-0 victory.
Mrs Axford, Head of Sport, said: “Congratulations to all the girls who produced some fantastic lacrosse throughout the tournament, but a special mention must go to Natasha Humphreys who has been outstanding in goal all season.”
In netball, the U11s won the North Bedfordshire District title last week, winning 3-1 in the final.
