Aastha Singh (Lower Sixth)
The Lower Sixth A level and IB biologists departed for a weekend at Flatford Mill on Friday 16th and enjoyed three days of ecology at the beautiful location of Suffolk.
Amongst the many interesting activities were measuring abiotic factors at a salt marsh, planning an investigation relating to correlations between abiotic and biotic factors and learning about succession. The many well-spent hours of hard work were succeeded by long scenic walks in the evenings.
Each day began with a hearty breakfast followed by classroom and outdoor sessions. Highlights included the idyllic accommodation in which several hours of laughter and discussion occurred in the evenings, leaping through deep black mud at the salt marsh and finding a secret hideout from which the most spectacular view of the lake could be seen during sunset. Overall, the trip was for some the best and many brilliant memories were made.
Thank you to the wonderful Biology department for organising such a fantastic trip.
