Many congratulations to Erin Rowe (Year 8) who has been shortlisted for the acclaimed Wicked Young Writer Award Finals. Created and sponsored by the musical Wicked, the awards give young people aged between 5 and 25 the chance to write about anything; expressing themselves, producing unique and original pieces of prose and poetry.

Erin told us: “I entered the competition as homework set by my English Teacher, Mrs Everitt. My story Memories of a Well Lived Life is a sad story about the end of a dog’s life and all the memories that the owner has of their time together. I was extremely surprised and delighted when I received the email from the Wicked Young Writers Awards Team telling me that I have been selected as one of the 20 category finalists out of over 4,500 entries.

I am really looking forward to the awards ceremony at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, London on Thursday 21st June and hearing my entry read out by a member of the Wicked musical cast.”
