On Thursday 27th September, the BGS 1st lacrosse team played the University of Cambridge 2nd team on a lacrosse pitch in the beautiful sunlit grounds at the back of Newnham College. 

In a very exciting game, BGS started strongly with a fabulous interception from Cecilia Castell (Upper Sixth) out of defence, setting up an early scoring opportunity for BGS. The Cambridge Goal Keeper who had clearly honed her skills back home in the USA was formidable, making save after save to keep them in the match. Despite Cambridge building some momentum in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, the fitness and athleticism of the BGS squad finally paid dividends with a 6-5 victory at the end of full time. 

Surely no better way to spend an early Autumnal evening, playing competitive lacrosse in the sunshine!
