Talented multi-event athlete Etienne Maughan (Year 9) is riding high after producing three Personal Best (PB) performances at the Eastern Young Athletes League (EYAL) in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 2nd June.
Competing for Bedford and County AC in the U15 age group, Etienne not only produced three PB’s but also broke three club records at the Dacorum and Tring athletics track.
In the 100m sprint, she crossed the line at 12.00 seconds, breaking the club record time of 12.20 seconds, which had stood since 1979. In the 75m hurdles, she posted 11.30 seconds, breaking the club record of 11.35 seconds. Lastly, she broke the long jump club record by 1cm, jumping 5.48m.
Etienne has competed for Bedford and County AC for four years, joining at the age of eight. In July, she is hoping to represent Bedfordshire Schools in the prestigious English School Championships.
