Miss Bentley (PE Teacher)
On a sunny Thursday 23rd May, eleven Year 4 girls competed in the Laxton Rounders Festival, which is always a super way for the girl's gaining match experience in a relaxed environment. Nerves and a very disciplined Laxton side, meant that our first game was a steep learning curve in how to field a very well hit ball.
Now, with some game experience under their belts and having been able to observe the next set of matches, BGS were a lot more comfortable in the field and managed to gain victory over Kimbolton School. Their third fixture against Stoneygate School was a well-matched game, with BGS narrowly taking the win and in a thrilling final match versus the hosts Laxton, BGS lost out by just half a rounder.
A very well done to all of the girls, their fielding and batting improved immensely over the afternoon as well as their ability to work as a team.
