Many congratulations to Manpriya Sira (Year 10), who has won the Young Volunteer of the Year category at the Bedford Sports and Physical Activity Awards 2024.

Held at the Bedford Corn Exchange on Monday evening, the 29th annual awards ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements of individuals, teams, and organisations from across the borough.

With a record 157 nominations and over 515 guests in attendance, the evening highlighted the impressive depth and breadth of sporting talent within Bedford Borough. The awards recognised a diverse range of accomplishments, from elite athletes to dedicated volunteers and inspiring community initiatives.

Over the past year, Manpriya has honed her coaching skills at Bedford Hockey Club. She has formed specialised groups to support new players, teaching fundamental skills while fostering social development. In addition, she umpires junior tournaments and coaches young children, making a significant impact on the local sporting community.

We are very proud of Manpriya’s achievement and the dedication she has shown to supporting others through sport.
