Serving Aces against Queenswood

Whole School Tennis

Mrs Mason-Mcleod (PE Teacher)

Last Saturday, the U12-U18 tennis players were out in full force ready to compete in a whole host of fixtures against Queenswood School at Bedford School’s astro courts.

The weather was of a typical English summer’s day. Sadly, there was no roof to put over the courts but the tennis was certainly not dampened,  it was impressive to see how resilient the players from both BGS and Queenswood School were.

Although the conditions were difficult, the tennis played was of a high standard with some extremely close games, especially in the U12 and U13 age groups. Who needs a centre court with strawberries and cream when you have a tennis fixture like this one!

Well done to all those who played and let’s hope the sun comes out for the rest of the season.

Results:

U12 – Queenswood win 39 games to 37

U13 – BGS win 39 games to 38

U14 – BGS win 79 games to 16

U15 – BGS win 57 games to 20

1st – BGS win 32 games to 15

Overall, the win went to BGS 244 – 128.
