ESAA Track and Field
The Summer Term of track and field athletics continues to produce fantastic results. Having performed well in the first round of the ESAA Track and Field Cup in May, both the Junior (Years 7 and 8) and Inter teams qualified for the regional round at Woodside Stadium, Watford (Monday 17th June).
Both age groups put in fantastic performances, winning their respective B competitions on the day. The Juniors score of 384 was high enough to earn 4th spot nationally out of five spots available to those who had not gained automatic qualification by winning the A Final. This qualifies them for the ESAA Track and Field Cup Final, which takes place at Chelmsford Essex (Saturday 6th July). This is only the second time in our schools history that we have reached the National Finals.
Congratulations to the following girls that have or will competing in the Local, Regional or National Rounds.
Faith Adeyemi-Abere, Durotimi Bey, Megan Brook, Charlotte Coton, Rosie Foster-Glennon, Gabriela Woodroffe-Gomez, Megan Howlett, Isabel Jackson, Khadija Kamara, Mya Lakhan, Molly Lincoln, Natasha Miller, Olivia O’Dell and Lara Wildon.

District Championships, Years 7 and 8
The individual and team performances continued last Thursday with the Juniors (Years 7 and 8), who had already placed second in the District League Championships a few weeks earlier. They now had the opportunity to compete again to see if they could go one-step better in the District Championships, which took place at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium.
The Year 8 team had an outstanding day, scoring a massive 84 points to become District Champions, this was 27 points ahead of second place.
The Year 7 team had a number of competitors taking part in their first official competition. They had to manage the occasion, whilst also performing to the best of their ability. They performed extremely well, claiming the District title by just one point, scoring 69 points.
Congratulations to the following students:
