Congratulations to BGS lacrosse coach, Mrs Greenwood, who has been selected to represent the England Women’s Senior Performance squad for the forthcoming 2019/20 season.

Mrs Greenwood, who currently plays as a Goal Keeper, has also represented Florida Southern College in Division 2, where she played for three years, and captained for two. She received national recognition in America, in 2013 and 2014 as the Division 2 Goalie of the Year and named as a IWLCA 1st Team All American.

Mrs Greenwood reflected on her England career, she said: “I didn't start my England lacrosse journey until 2017 when I was persuaded by a member of the Bronze winning squad that I should come out of retirement. I was named to the Full Senior roster in September 2018, after a successful tour in Israel with the team. Since being named to the Senior Squad I have played in number of capped matches, my first being against the USA (Ironic since I am in fact American, and also one of the most emotional games of my life) and the last being the Gold medal match in Israel this summer at the European Championships.

“I will be travelling with the team next summer to compete in a test series against Australia and several other teams in the region.”
