Last Saturday, The Association held their annual festive extravaganza, the Christmas Fayre. The school was filled with fairy lights, mince pies and the aroma of mulled wine as stallholders gathered in the dining room to sell wonderful items ranging from jewellery and leather goods to hand made pottery and delicious local produce.
Parents, staff, girls and friends of the school enjoyed the Christmas ambience that filled the air, with the new grotto themed 'Secrets Room' proving a popular attraction and added excitement being found in the Green Room where the fayre provided the backdrop to the completion of the 24-hour charity ergo challenge by the BGS rowers. As ever, the fun continued in the Assembly Hall where the Junior School ran over 20 stalls making crafts, playing games, doing glitter tattoos and selling cakes. The very popular bottle tombola sold out with over sixty winners and parents flocked to the second hand uniform sale where takings reached record levels.
The Junior Choir performed this year to a packed Assembly Hall followed by The Eagle Choir who rounded off the wonderful singing with a rousing performance in the Dining Room. It was a truly fantastic start to the festive season and thanks must go to everyone who contributed to the occasion.
The Association would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support during 2019 and wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to further events in 2020 with our Family Quiz in March and the extremely popular bi-annual May Ball taking place on Saturday 2nd May. Ball tickets will go on sale in January, further information regarding this will be sent out next week.
