Sophie Harrington-Law (Lower Sixth)
On Wednesday, alumna and artist-in-resident Harriet (Harry) Lusty, gave the Lower Sixth art students a talk that offered insight into her experience going to art university and the opportunities it afforded her from there.
I felt inspired to experiment with different forms of art and sculpture and far better informed after I heard the observations of an art student. Her insight into the world of art and the transition from A Level art and design to university level was perceptive and intuitive. Furthermore, I felt comfortable asking her advice about career options from there, along with her personal opinion on the art and design course she chose, foundation level art, and her choice of university.
The opportunity to talk to Harry offered me valuable and astute information about the art world beyond Sixth Form and everything that comes with it. I am considering it as a future career option.
Harry is one of 60 graduates who has been asked to exhibit at the New Contemporaries Exhibition 2020 at the Royal Academy of Art & Architecture in Edinburgh in February. For more information, click here.
