Once again BGS was delighted to start off British Science Week in the community with BedPop 2020, which is a locally led initiative aimed at creating a greater awareness of STEM amongst primary aged children.
Based in The Barbican Room in The Higgins on Saturday 7th March, Sixth Form and Year 11 scientists Leigh-Ann Cudjoe, Masooma Sultana, Emily Santerre , Serena Yadu, Emily Coton, Meranie Kairu, Grace Gaffey, Hilda Makamba, Hasmitha Malepati, Prache Agrawal, Sabira Egan and Anya Mistry, overseen by Head of Science, Mrs Smart, Science Technician, Mrs Everest and Marketing Officer, Emma MacKenzie led many hands on activities throughout the day.
Activities included chemical curiosities – chromatography trolls and bath bomb making, augmented reality, producing electrical power using solar panels and making foil boats to hold as many marbles as possible.
