Whole School Performing Arts

Mrs Howe (Director of Drama and Dance)

As we began our planning for this year’s Performing Arts Awards, Covid-19 struck and our much anticipated celebration of our girls and their achievements had to be put on hold. Now more than ever schools have a real responsibility to continue providing education and enrichment in the arts, knowing the vital importance of mediums that promote empathy, resilience, emotional intelligence, hard work, dedication and the ability to think creatively to solve a myriad of problems with multiple and varied solutions. These skills and attitudes are ones that we see our girls developing and applying consistently across our programme of performing arts.

And so while we could not commemorate their achievements face-to-face, we congratulate our singers, musicians, dancers and actors on achieving their arts colours and prizes but most especially on the impact they have made to the BGS community in lifting hearts and showing us just how important cultural and emotional connection is!
