We’re thrilled to announce that Asha Kirkpatrick (BGS Year 8), 13, and her 10-year-old sister Jia, are joint winners in the Young Heroes category for the Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons 2020.

In early 2020, the sisters made an impression on Kellogg's UK & Ireland bosses after they created a petition to save endangered orangutans, which gained over 834,000 signatures. As a result, Kellogg's changed their global palm oil policy! You can read more about their incredible national campaign here.

Accepting the Amplifon award in a Zoom ceremony on Tuesday, Asha and Jia said: “We are so honoured to win the Amplifon Award for Brave Britons, Young Heroes category. It was so exciting to attend the virtual awards ceremony and we really enjoyed hearing about other people’s achievements. We are so humbled to be in a group of winners that includes Marcus Rashford and Captain Sir Tom Moore!”

The petition is very close to a million signatures, please support it here.
