Sixth Form

Although the Upper Sixth students have been self-isolating at home, this hasn’t stopped Mrs Woolley (Director of Sixth Form, pictured) and her team keeping the students active, motivated and positive throughout the week.

The girls have engaged this period of remote online learning whilst also participating in fun and engaging activities such as a Bake Off, and a live-streamed HIIT (High-intensity interval training) workout with Mrs Woolley and Lower Sixth students Emily Crossland, Grace Gaffey and Maddie Lever.

They have been keeping their spirits high in other ways too, Mrs Woolley added: “My class arrived to my lesson on Monday and all had their cameras off and then turned on in unison! They were all dressed in a different colour and I had to judge who had dressed best for the theme colour. After lessons today, the whole year group will be participating in a fun Google Meet scavenger hunt!”

On Wednesday morning, Mrs Lowe (School Counsellor) delivered an engaging online session to all the students about the Emotional Regulation, she said: “It is a pressured time for the students as mocks are fast approaching; decisions and applications for universities, degree apprenticeships and other life experiences are being made.  On top of this, they are currently self-isolating and COVID is interrupting their routines, their self-care and freedom. The session gave them a selection of tools and strategies to help them manage stress and anxiety; breathing exercises, daily resets – moments of calm, meditation and practising positive self-talk. It was a fantastic session, the students were really open to trying new ways of staying focused and calm.”
