Yesterday was the first day of auditions held at lunchtime in the Assembly Hall, in the build up to our annual House Talent Finals, which will be taking place on the Wednesday of the final week of term.

The Year 7 students were on first and did not disappoint! Right from the get go we heard confident renditions of songs from musical theatre, an original piece, and some fabulous recitals of the popular favourites. There was plenty of variety too, with a violin solo, a contemporary dance piece, and a comedy duo. Thank you to all the Year 7 students who stepped out of their comfort zones to audition and to the socially distanced audience, who were hugely supportive of every act.

Today it is the turn of Year 8 and we are looking forward to hearing some of last year’s talented musicians in addition to some newcomers to the BGS House Talent auditions. Next week Year 9 will take centre stage at their auditions on Monday, as we work our way vertically up the school.

This year the Junior School have entered remotely. From their video performances, some of the Junior School acts will be chosen for the next round, to audition live, for a spot in the finals of BGS House Talent 2020.
