Last term we highlighted Tobi Apesin’s (Year 11) mentorship programme with the Robotics department at Cardiff Metropolitan University, read about her first session HERE.

Tobi’s now written a reflection on her second session below:

“On Thursday 27th May, I had my last meet with my current mentor as she will be finishing her course at the end of the month. Although this meeting was a relatively short, we still managed to discuss and go through many important things about research before she gave me some resources and tools to help me with my next mentor and the future.

“In this session, we went over research methodology and how to properly conduct research and write a research paper which I thought to be very helpful considering I want to go into AI research. She shared some resources and notes on research methodology as well as a guide on how to reference correctly.

“I’ll miss my old mentor and although I didn’t know here her long, she’s helped me in many ways  and I’m very appreciative of what she’s done, it has been really insightful. I plan to keep in contact with her in the future as I map out my future studies and career in this field.”

“In the next session, I’ll hopefully be introduced to my new mentor and I can’t wait gain more insight from a new mentor who will help along this next part of this journey.”
