Mrs Jackson (PE Teacher)
On Monday, the U15 cricket team played in the second round of the School Sport Magazine National Schools U15 Girls T20 Cricket Cup against Beaumont School, St Albans. Having won the toss Charlotte Wells (Year 10) chose to field first.
Beaumont had a very strong top of the batting order with some aggressive and confident batting. Kate Woodard (Year 9) took an excellent catch to remove their strongest player and we ended up keeping them to 120-4. Charlotte Wells took 3 wickets for 15 runs off 4 overs.
In response, the BGS top order batters made a strong steady start, all scoring at least 20 runs each. With 5 overs to go we reached their total and won by 6 wickets. A great team effort in which all the students are learning so much at every game.
